Battery/generator warning

Hello guys,

I had to take my generator out to install daylight relays, and when I had it out, I changed the voltage regulator to a new one.
After this all my problems started.

After a couple of starts I got a battery/generator warning.
I noticed that I got it if I just put my ignition in acc on position and it came on just after my oil check, and if I started it, it would stay on.
If I just started the car immediately, then it wouldn't come on.

I had to go away for 5 days and when I came back my car was out of power.

So I figured it maybe was a bad voltage regulator and bought a new on. I installed it yesterday. And charged the battery up to full, checked the battery overnight without putting it in the car and it hold the power very good. Charged up to around 12.89v and a drop overnight for like 0.03-5v - which I think sounds acceptable.

The same error comes on if I just put the ignition to acc on after 10 seconds.
I had no errors before I took the alternator out the first time.
I'm on work this evening and tomorrow morning I will find out how much the voltage drop is overnight. I measured it at 12.47v.

Does anyone have ANY clue of why the error is coming?

Gotta consider looking at what you did last to your car...the DLR work. Back it out and to pre-modification and see if your problems are still present.

Maybe the V.R is the wrong type or just not working,.maybe replace that 1st,Its easy to get bad parts out of the box,..especially electrical.

Sorry for my late answer.
I have tried a new voltage regulator.
Made by JP Group, the same company who makes DANSK exhausts.
They are 20 km from where I live.

I have ordered a new rectifier.
It’s the diode bridge, which makes sure the voltage can’t run back from the battery into the generator.

I have take off the cords to the DLR already. First thing I did 😅

Hello again,

Does anyone know what the metal connector in this video is called?
And maybe where to buy it?

I ended up buying a refurbished Bosch generator for 120 dollars.
It works really good. So I guess it was my rectifier in the old generator which gave up.
So it drained power overnight.
