Oh nooooo a tire thread

Just looking for opinions...

I need to put new tires on my 996 Targa. It currently has Michelin AS/3 all season on it.
I'm not a big fan of those tires, they are noisy as hell.

This car is a street car with an occasional canyon carving outing. It is never tracked or used for autocross. (Wife's car :)) I'm looking for all season tires

Let's have at it boys.......

I like Continental as a good blend of performance and value. I run Conti Extreme Contact on my 986 for warm weather, and Conti DWS for cold weather. Both have solid test reviews and good user feedback on Tire Rack.

Remember those are old tires you are hearing. Did you have the same opinion of them when they were brand new?

Pretty much. I bought the car with them and had the rears replaced under Michelin warranty :) They got noisy almost right away, maybe a couple of hundred miles

Those are both summer tires, not all season

I went from AS3 to DWS and found better wet grip and better mileage. About 10000 miles on AS3 rears vs around 15000 on DWS. Due now but changing to a square setup on 18”x8.5” wheels so don’t know what’s next. If DWS have what I’m looking for size wise I’ll e getting them again.

I have the Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 on my 911 Targa. Same use - daily street with an occasional canyon run. I like them much better than my previous Michelin A/S 3+.
