ODB2 system readers?

I have a Bluetooth OBD2 reader. Is there any software for Boxsters where you can diagnose and test systems on the car like "lets say" the cooling fans? Systems for laptops or apple ipad? any recommendations?

Search for info on Durametric. I believe Autel also has something comparable although I haven't used it. The next step up is a few thousand on a PST2 or PIWIS.
