What speakers for behind?

Going to put some speakers in the rear cubby holes. I know the Porsche kit for the car uses two 3 inch both sides. Ive had a look on ebay and there aren't many 3 inch options but loads of 3.5 inch.

Has anyone fitted 3.5 inch speakers in the cubby holes? or can you recommend good 3 inch.

Cheers

Generally, you have to modify the rear speaker mount to fit 3.5" speakers. However, some owners just jam them in there and get them to work. Other owners remove the OEM mounting panel and replace it with a panel with a larger hole.

I bought 4 ea. NS3-193-8A1 speakers from Madisound. They are 3" , 8 ohm speakers, but did require some Dremel work on the factory mounting holes. $20/ea. when I bought them about 4 years ago.

A pair of JBL 3.5 inch 120w with crossovers ordered, be fine for what I want. Not big into audio but do like to hear it all around me. I'll see what they are like and maybe get another pair :-)

Do yourself a favor and buy the Euro Motor Speed brackets. When I upgraded my rear speakers I went the Dremel route on the OEM bracket and while it worked fine, it looked like crap even though no one will see it but me. I ordered these brackets and they fit and look perfect!

You are welcome, they are well worth the $75 he charges IMO

Spend the money on upgrading the front sound stage speakers and amp. I don't use mine as the front is so good.

Got a set of 3.5" speaker mounts from eBay. Look just like the original's but made for 3.5 and they are aluminum. Fit perfectly. I ordered a set from pelican and when I got them realized only 3" would work. Couldn't find a good set of 3's so ordered the set from eBay ( 75$) and e3xtremely happy. Kickers change the entire sound system

This is the set I have. Would totally agree, they are worth the money. Or, spend 125 and have the grills with it

I have the rear bracket set as posted above. Well worth it. JL Audio C2-350x 3.5 speakers. I installed 1 pair of speakers. Don't think I really need 4 in the rear. Anyone else have an opinion on 2 v 4 rear speakers?

Cunningr 10-16-2019 08:47 PM

I bought a set of the rears decided not to install them, went for a QA system means front sound stage no rears. System sounds great, i am a vote for say on the rear speakers and spend for better amp and setting up the front sound stage.
