Dose any one know what type of connector this is? Like whats the style or name?

Also dose any one know how to dissemble? I ordered this larger version because some one gave me a link to it and said its the correct one but its larger then the original. How do i fine the correct size version?

Thanks!

For the disassembly buy a terminal/pin removal tool, the pins have clips on two sides that need to be depressed to slide the pin out of the plug. If the plug doesn't have a part number, it going to be hard to source new, I would reach out to someone parting out a 986.

On the opposite side to the hump it should have "VW 0000 Germany" then a 9 digit number. You should be able to get one. The large one you ordered is for the headlights.

You'll need a pin removal tool set - something like that:
https://www.bgstechnic.com/de/catalog/product/view/id/461398

Than you can crimp new connectors on the wires and reuse the old connector housing.

If the old connector housing is bar, did you check the 986 parts catalog for the right parts number?

Are you switching to a different type of door lock mechanism? I don't think the larger connector will fit

PorscheBear86 10-06-2019 01:03 PM

no im not i ordered the wrong connector.. but i think i found the right one on ebay!

" How do i fine the correct size version?" Sorry i missed that part. Glad you found the right one

Soo, why do you need a new one? Did the original break? I would suggest replacing the door harness rather than splicing wiring. I bet Woody has a bunch, as well as other vendors, and they won't cost much more than just the connector...
