**URGENT** new boxster owner, help needed.
HI,
sorry if im over reacting but ive only had my 986 a week and i noticed today when i come home from work there was water driping from the front ride side of the car and steam/smoke coming from grill(radiator is located?) wasnt dripping alot. just noticed a little wet patch afetr an hour of it sitting there is this normal for boxsters to do this? maybe something todo with an overflow? i dont know much about, but im worried now. any help would be magic, as i want advice before i take it to porcshe and get rapped for a high bill thanks for reading dave |
Geez, your only good option is to take it to the dealer and have them check the hose clamps and radiator for leaks. Unless you want to get on your back and do it yourself.

Examine the wet patch. If it's clear, it may just be condensation from running your AC in hot weather.
Now if it's colored liquid, that's radiator fluid. Especially if you are seeing steam I would say you need to have it examined immediately and do not continue to drive the car. Last thing you want to do is run low on coolant and overheat a very, very expensive engine. While you have the car in the shop, have the mechanic go over it with a fine tooth comb... it will be the best money you ever spent. Knowing up front what's worn and what will need replacement always helps a new Porsche owner sleep better at night. |
it is anti freeze because it tastes sweet. and i havent had my ac on.
anyone know how to get those little things of inside the arch to take the black mud guardthingy so i can have a proper look at it |
Ths is in another thread but its pretty simple DIY if you have 2 hours or so.

Myers, don't be tasting too much of that stuff. It'll kill you
