One less OČ sensor?
Well, I got some new long-tube headers for my 986, and it only has a bung for the aft OČ sensor.
Will it just default to an open loop setting? Not too familiar with the 986's stock computer, but I've had a few cars that barely run without a missing/bad O2 sensor, and others that it barely makes a difference. I've started the car with the new headers on, and it seems that all is well. Just asking around to see if any of you guys have had any experience with this. |
front sensor tells computer how much fuel to add. rear sensor tells computer if catalytics are working. you have to run front sensor to the bung on your headers (extend wires if necessary) and let rear sensors hang in the air or remove. most likely will have to live with a cel due to no cats. note that sensors are interchangeable, so if rear sensor wires are long enough, you can swap them so as to not have to extend wires.

Thanks very much! I'll see about doing that soon.

And seeing you are in CA, good luck on smog tests.
