I will give a strong positive recommendation for expertise, customer service, availability, and fair pricing to Ken Smith of RennSmith out of Dover NJ. He used to work at the well-respected ******************************** of Chatham NJ before the owner retired & closed it.
Probably closer to you than Long Island (ok "I ain't from around der" so could be wrong) and worth the drive anyway I would think.
BOL

I don't know why the forum blocked the name of his prior shop (now closed) - it must be shared with an online vendor that competes with Pelican. Anyway it sounds a lot like "Otto House"

I recommend Elite Motors of NJ out in Lodi, NJ. The owner is Sam. He came highly recommended from a friend. For parts, I recommend buying through your own source to save money. He doesn't upcharge on parts but you'll pay full price. He specializes in Porsche & BMW afaik. The hourly rate was $125 but that could have changed. Lodi should be closer to you from Queens.

Can anyone recommend a Porsche mechanic/shop in Queens, NY or nearby?

I've spent $10k at a pcar indy shop in Long Island City, and I do not think they are competent. It's been a bit of a nightmare dealing with them. Alcoholic owner, return trips, different stories and etc. Time to cut ties.

Right now I have a simple check engine light that I need read, and also a repair that the LIC shop could not fix.

Thank you.
There's a sticky for that.

Garage
Try TKX Performance in Huntington Station, or The Carrera Shop. Both excellent. Not a bad ride out east.
