Singular cylinder misfire (P0305)

So this occurred going down highway at about 4500rpm. Sometimes that high of RPM feels like the back end loses traction (if that makes sense) I’m guessing this was a contributing factor.

I tried looking online to see if there were similar problems like this, but all of them were for banked misfires on the whole side, nothing for singular codes.

I went ahead and ordered new coils just to be sure, plugs were replaced last July and i’ve since put about 5,000 miles on so I can’t imagine that’s contribution.

I felt around to make sure nothing was loose (weird enough it’s probably happened to someone before, that was just my first guess) and the only thing i noticed was the rubber sleeve wasnt up against the coil like the rest of them, but other than that everything was snug.

If anyone has any other guesses i’ll be happy to test with my limited skills.

Heres a picture of the code from the OBII scanner:

i would suspect the coil...it is a singular cylinder thing, right?
the other is a bad injector.

Yeah it was just the one, #5. That was the assumption buying new coils, probably time to get new ones anyways since they haven’t been changed in the lifetime of me owning it.

If it were a bad injector would other codes follow? Previously have had P0410 and P0430, but i haven’t had 410 in about 2 years and 430 happens once every 500ish miles or so, I usually just erased those because of ignorance saying just replace the O2 sensor it was telling me to.

i dont know about other codes off bad injector, just thinking about things that would impact just 1 cylinder, no spark, no fuel, no compression
lots of reasons for each, but plug, coil and injector seem the most likely without other symptoms and codes, unless you bent a valve. :+0

Well I drove to work this morning and nothing happened so maybe it was a super random thing; regardless the coils are on their way so they’ll get done so it wasn’t a waste of $300.
