Need a ground point near fusebox
In the throes of installing a dash cam and looking for an easy place to connect the ground wire. Any ideas?

If I remember correctly, there is one screw on the right side of the fuse box that secured it to the body. I just used that and slid a spade connector between the fuse box and body. Not ideal, but I have a few things running off of that ground with no issues (my backup cam, footwell lights, etc.).

Yes, there is a ground point adjacent to fuse panel. You will not see it until you remove carpeted trim surrounding fuse panel but once you do it will be blatantly visible. One screw at top of fuse panel IIRC.
Good luck :) |
Thanks for the quick replies guys.
Charles, are you talking about the screw beside the relay panel? See my pic below. You slid the spade behind the black tab rather than just behind the nut? Burg, I can't see how to get the carpet off beside the fuse panel. thxhttp://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1563756184.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1563756199.jpg |

No, not that one. If you remove the 4 screws around the fuse panel, the carpeted plastic piece around it will pull right out. You’ll find a ground point in there.
