01 Boxster S - Engine Click

Hello all, so Ive got an 01' Boxster S. Bought it quite some time ago at about 25k and it just recently crested 140k. It's been a lot of fun. I've seen several of the "normal" issues with the car but overall have been pretty lucky. I'm wondering Iif my luck has run out
Just yesterday the engine developed a significant click/tap from the engine. It occurs at idle and coincides with engine RPM. I've checked for loose plugs and visually looked for evidence of an exhaust leak around the exhaust gasket. I'm a bit afraid seeing some of the other threads but also, the videos people have posted have not been as significant as mine. I'm on my phone so it won't let me upload the video now. I'll do that ASAP.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

that is significant and sounds metallic, like a really noisy lifter.
get around it with a stethoscope and see if you can isolate where it is coming from.

Last oil change and what did you put in there?
Does it go away after warm?
does it lessen after warm?
check oil for metal!

I will monitor to see what others have to say.

Sounds like a lifter to me. Did the car sit at all for a period of time before?
