motorsport AOS install
Just wondering if anyone has any insight into a 996 motorsport AOS installation into a 2000S. I know it is going to need a bit of fabrication to mount it, but what do you do with the 80 degree bend at the bottom of the stock unit that goes back into the case? The motorsport is straight out of the bottom.
I have read a few of the older posts, but no one seems to mention what they did on the bottom. I thought about cutting off the tube from the old AOS and putting a hose over it and and the MAOS, but not sure if that will stay in the case. I see LN has a bracket, but I have a tough time paying more for the mounting bracket than I did for the MAOS and different hose it needs! |

This is the route I want to go if I have to replace my AOS again. |
Kevin at The Prosche Specialist in Broomhall PA has put one on one of the earlier cars, let me see if I can find the picture.

shouldn't be too hard to fab but boy is it tight in that area. |
Thanks for the help. one of the other things I have found is the outlet I need to make some kind of a bend for is not located in the same spot as the original - so I will need to locate the MAOS and then figure out position of the bend. Might be worth buying a pre done bracket, but I have a bit of scrap 1/4 alumnimum around, so just need to draw something up and start making some chips.
I so like the simple bracket in the photo on the 996 mount - just need to figure out that angled outlet. Winter in New England gives me plenty of time to figure it out! |
