Tire balance so sensitive on the Box

lastweek I noticed alot of vibration in my steering wheel at speeds 70mph and up, On saturday i was on the 110 North and the vibration went from bad to real bad and then i heard a peice of metal boucing under and out from under my car then the vibration calmed abit..but it was still there.

I went to a tire shop and told them to balance my front wheels cause i suspect that my balancer flew off on the freeway just now, Turns out i was right but the Balance was off by 2.5 ounces on the driverside and 1 ounce on the passenger side but the tech told me that usually you souldnt feel vibration with that little bit of unbalance, but he got it to 0 out so now im perfectly balanced, I went on the freeway and it was as smooth as Sadam Hussiens face before he decided to sleep under ground and grow a beard.

In short...Our wheels are very sensitive to the slightest touch of unbalancing.

Yup, I had the same thing within 500 miles of having new Goodyear F1's mounted. I don't think a weight fell off, but for whatever reason the balance was off by a small amount.

Also, I swear that when I haven't driven her for a 3-5 days the steering wheel will shimmy until I've driven enough miles to get her warmed up a little.

I believe the reason for that shimmy after not driving for 3-5 days is that your tires will get a flat spot on them from sitting so long on that spot...usually takes about 10 minutes for the tires to warm up and balloon back into correct shape if its been sitting for some days in the same spot without being driven.
