Air Bag Spring Switch
While replacing my turn signal switch it looks like I screwed up the air bag spring switch. Any chance that that can be 'repaired', or is something you just replace? My Durametric software says the fault is at the switch.
Haven't called the dealer yet- anyone know what the cost is? It's for a '99. Regards, derb |
Do not mess with saftey! Just replace it... if you are ever in a collision, you dont want to guess if your airbag is going to deploy or not.

Thanks for the replys.
I didn't really think there was any hope to repair the switch- but it doesn't hurt to ask. MNBoxster- Thanks for the part number and price. Guess I'll be calling Sunset Imports again. Surprisingly, not too expensive a part. AUDIOGUY- I shall replace. This past weekend was 1100 miles of hoping for no collisions- no passengers involved. Regards, derb |
An update to my thread...
Before I ordered a new airbag switch I decided to removed the airbag to check things out. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the connector to the airbag had come loose- no doubt my mistake. After reconnecting the wiring I used the Durametric software to read the codes, cleared them, and the airbag warning light is gone. Guess I didn't screw it up after all. Regards, derb |
