Window Microswitch Location

Where is the the microswitch located that lowers the window when the door is opened?

That microswitch is integrated into the door latch mechanism and is held in with a metal clip. On one car I found that the switch was fine and the problem was from worn off plastic where the switch makes contact. Best option is usually to replace the latch.

Here's a tech article from Pelican Parts:

Here's a pic from that article that I just labeled:

Thanks for the help.....great response
I do notice when I open the door I can push the window down..the same distance that it would lower if working properly....I also tested lowering the top to see if the window would lower....it lowered, not as far as the drivers door and I could push the window down....
Do you think that this indicates a bad microswitch or window regulator?

That sounds more like a regulator problem. Usually if it's just the microswitch, the window will be firmly full up.

Search for a couple threads like this if you want to try a repair instead of replacement:

There's a couple more good window and door tech articles at Pelican that will be helpful: https://www.pelicanparts.com/boxster/boxster_tech.htm
