On my '03 S the radio sometimes goes out completely and then the next day it mysteriously comes back on. Who knows? I just chalk it up to the usual Becker technology.

Normal. "It's all good!"

I assume you have the Bose in your 987. The sound cuts in relation to the top latch being opened so the Bose processing can readjust for the different acoustic environment. The Bose stereo sounds different top-up vs. top-down which can be confirmed by opening the top, then holding down the top-latch button or applying the famous red-clip.

Incidentally the non-bose does not have this "problem", so if you don't have Bose, something is amiss.

Yes it's Bose, thanks for the 411

Mine did the same thing one day at on autocross when I was waiting to go then came back and no problem since. Must be an 03 S thing
