Shifter

Will a 997 shifter fit a 98 Boxster?

Thanks

Yes. It’s one of the first upgrades I make when I get a new 986. The 997 shifter is the same as the 987 shifter. Shorter throw by 15-20% when compared to the stock 986 shifter. Is was a cheap upgrade in the old days (~$150). Now they run around $250 new.

Yes, the 997 shifter works great - I also have one in my car. Shorter throw than stock but not as short as a "short throw" unit. Its a nice middle ground.

And a firm 3rd on that. Great little, reletively easy, upgrade!

Having installed a short shifter on my car I found it requires quite a bit more effort then the factory 986 shifter. How does the factory 987 compare?
