Can;t remove front Oxy Sensors
 

Tried for three hours to remove my front two Oxy sensors from my 2000 Boxster S. They would not budge. Tried everything, PB Blaster, heat. Nothing worked. Then I took it to a local shop and they could not remove them either. I do not believe they have ever been replaced.
WHAT NEXT??

Just been there. Basically mine had welded themselves in after 15 years of heat cycling. I had the cats out and got one out but stripped threads.

Took them to an exhaust builder to cut out the existing ones and weld in new stainless steel bungs so I can install new O2 sensors.

Update:

Cats back. One bung cut out and replaced, the other survived by running a tap down it.

All reinstalled and no error codes.

What did you put on the threads of the O2 sensors to prevent it happening again in the future ?

Hopefully, high temp anti seize.

The threads on this sensors is fortunately the same as a spark plug, so the spark plug thread chaser sold at most auto parts stores will clean them up.

Last time I replaced O2 sensors they came with anti-seize applied.

Milk of Magnesia also works great , a tip handed down by a great Porsche mind .

That stuff used to seize the lid on the bottle?!?!?

If you're replacing the O2 sensor cut (or break) the end of the sensor off and then use a normal socket on a breaker bar to get it loose.

If you have access to a torch try to get the bung red hot first.
