Becker 220 question

I've been working through immobilizer issues with my '02. I finally got that straightened out. I typed in my radio code on my stereo and it will play but I have no display whatsoever. I do have a backlight when the deck is on.

I was astonished to see the radio code card was still in the owner's manual. And the owner's manual was in the car. I just bought this car 2 weeks ago.

Thanks!
