ZF tiptronic emergency run after engine install

so over saturday and sunday, the engine was reunited with the car for the first time in two years. it started easily once it built up fuel pressure and sounded good. however, it is now flashing up the tiptronic emergency run warning.

the box had been serviced only shortly before the engine incident, including the replacement of the switch on the side of the box. the transmission felt excellent. during removal , relocation, and installation, no fluid was lost.

despite the warning the car shifts through the gears, albeit at what feels like a high working pressure.

i don't have immediate access to a code reader and wondered if there is some sort of reset procedure such as the mercedes boxes have?

any tests i can perform with a multimeter?

those interested in the back story can look here -http://986forum.com/forums/performance-technical-chat/71426-2-7-3-2-cam-characteristics-swap.html

thank you.
