IMS bearing pulled

In short, I have pulled my IMS bearing after hearing a knocking sound at 1/2 engine speed. The bearing is perfectly okay, I will replace etc I don't want to assemble everything back to gather and find I still have the problem, any suggestions? Im lost at this point.

Doing all the work DIY. Its a double row bearing FYI. 986 S 2000 MY.

thanks,
Robert

If it really is at 1/2 engine speed its probably a hydraulic lifter that's failing. The only parts that run at 1/2 engine speed are the cams and the fuel injectors.

Why did you pull the IMS prior to doing other diagnostics? Unfortunately with the IMS craze, it seems like everything that can go wrong with these motors is the IMS default... On the good side, you got it done. On the not so good side, you still have to put it all back together and figure out what is actually going on. Any codes being thrown?

And don't reuse the bearing you pulled. You damage it by removing it.
