Smile Wheel Offset Question

Hello Folks,

Wondering if any have tried using these setup for an 04' 986S?

8 x 18 ET 50 (Front)

10 x 18 ET 65 (Rear)

I intend to use the same size tires that i have on my existing Rims...
225 x 40 x 18 (Front)

265 x 35x 18 (Rear)

If ET 65 is too far off or in, Would a use of Spacers be ideal and How much is needed?

Thanks once again for any input.

fronts are standard stock. Rears need 15mm to bring them out to stock. Anything more would widen the stance.

I just did this on my '02 Boxster S. Same tire sizes, same wheel sizes and offsets, with the exception being the fronts on mine were 7 1/2" instead of 8. The fronts fit perfectly with no spacers. The backs fit perfectly using 20mm spacers. I can't see 15mm spacers working, at least not on my car. The inside of the wheel or tire would almost certainly hit the strut with anything less than 20mm. It's really tight in there. You'll also have to zip tie your parking brake cable to the lower support to keep it from rubbing on the forward inner edge of the tire. It's worth it though, it really looks great.

there is actually an oem clip that came on *i think* the 996TT designed to attach the cable to the trailing arm to keep it out of the way of wide tires/wheels. can't remember or find the part # for the life of me, however.

Whoa ! This is really interesting now...
Thanks so much for your input Radium King for those cable clips and Doug 427's experience with his 02'S set-up with 20mm Spacers..
And of course, my neighbour New Art from Montreal , Thanks for the advise.. I will try and work this out with the seller of a nice set of Carrera Lights, and will keep you guys posted if it materialize!
Can't wait to take my ride out real soon..

Once I saw that clip (even though it's very cheap for a Porsche piece) I went ahead and used a couple heavy duty zip ties on each arm to hold the cable out of the way.
