How-To: Lumbar-EEZ Installation

Saw this in the latest Panorama and realized my prayers had finally been answered re: my complaints about the stock seats... a product intended to fix the lumbar support deficiency.

Just three short days later it arrived via our friends at the US Postal Service. Right on time for a Saturday installation...

Both sides installed now... squeeze bulb is right at hand for adjustment.

Once adjusted and tucked away behind the seatbelt achor, they are nearly invisible.

Further mod I plan on this is to upgrade the installation by placing a thick-ish plastic sheet behind the bladder in the seat. The bladder slips in between the seat springs and the cushion. I'm concerned that over time the spring may abrade the bladder and cause a leak. A flat piece cut out of the side of a washer fluid, bleach, etc. bottle would probably do the trick. Thick enough to protect but not stiff enough to affect seating comfort.

Donv,

Thanks so much for the great installation instructions and photos. I have often wondered why my seats have no lumbar adjustment. I think I'll order a pair of those up, right now. Nice work.

Hi,

I looked into those, and they are a great kit. The issue I have is that it precludes one from installing aftermarket seat heaters which I plan to do, so I think I'm gonna pass on them.

But, if all you're looking for is Lumbar Support, this kit is pretty good. For the more frugal, you can buy a pair of Sphygmomanometers (Blood Pressure Cuffs) from Walgreens or such for about $7 each which are practically the same and will work identically to these...

For the truely frugal, you can choose the correct size towel and place it where it feels the most comfortable.

Great product! I have been using mine for several months and I love it.

Stupid question: do the seat cushions just pop out?

Ha these look cool!

I wonder if we could get an electric pump and hit a button .. pressure up - pressure down.. hmmm :)

Nice one.

Nice job and thanks for sharing it with us.

Reminds me of the lumbar adjusters of many years ago.

Cool!

The center section can be pulled away from the rest of the seat. You can slide anything back behind the center of the seat.
