Winter rims

I'm looking for another set of rims to put on the Boxster instead of the 17" sport ones. I call;ed the dealer and asked them if they know of any other rims that would fit (VW or Audi) but I didn't get a straight answer. He tried to sell me a "package" of aluminum rims (17") with blizzaks for $1800. I need a more economic alternative like 16" or 15". Anyone knows what kind of wheels that will fit the Boxster?

The auction is misleading these are not winters. I just bought a set of tires and they look exactly the same as the ones on there. I hate ebayers like that. That's what he told me in an email:

Quote:

No, I wrote snow tires on the title, I meant that you may use the set in
the winter, if you have a low profile tires in the summber. They are
regular performance Bridgestone Potenaz 255 40 zr 17
rim = 50 8.5 & 205 50 zr 17 rim = 55 7. Regular size for a 2000
boxster.

My friend talked to a guy at Tire Rack and he told him that no rims can fit the Boxster ( he says he has the same car i have). But this doesn't ring true since the standard rims are 16". I can buy blizzaks LM-22 but all I hear is that the low profile 17" rims "float" on the snow. The only problem with the tires I have right now is sometimes I fish tail just a little bit when I down **************** at high speeds. 16" would cut through the snow better they say. But I don't know I heard the blizzaks are wonderful.

It looks like Blizzaks are the way to go. I saw a CLK and a Z3 in my apt building that have them on. They cost a lot but they are worth it. I'm getting them from tiresavings.com they are really good. The quotes I got from the tire dealers around here were just insane, $270 per tire. I got them for $180 online. The front ones are cheaper since they are smaller.
