Similar swap 2.5 to 2.7 with problems

Hey i am looking to purchase a 98 boxster from a friend who needs space in the garage. the original 2.5 blew up and he installed a 2.7 at a local German mechanic. I cant get it to pass smog because it keeps throwing p1124 and 1126. I spoke with the guy who swapped it and it sounds like they kept the original DME and MAF and did not flash the DME for the new engine. I have never had a Porsche before so i am a bit green, but it seems like it runs OK, but not optimal. Any ideas on how i can get this thing to pass smog? I ccouldnt tell if erlinrys kept his original DME or swapped in the one from the new engine, any insight would be helpful.

He has even taken every class Jake Raby teaches about the M96/M97 motor. Heck he might have even taught Jake a thing or two as he's been working on Porsche motors for decades. Anyway, he tried putting a 2.7 in a 2.5 car. He ended up getting it to run but I believe he had to put the 2.5 heads, wiring harness and intake on the 2.7 motor and it still kept throwing codes. I'm not sure how much farther he's gotten with it though. He was doing it for fun. On another note, you're not going to see much of an improvement with a 2.7. That's a lot of work and $$ for little gain.

Jake began working on Porsche engine's when he was 12.

Well maybe you should reread it again because your reading comprehension is that of a first grader

Yeah I am having trouble comprehending why someone that knows more about Porsche engines than Jake Raby is giving him 1,000's of dollars to teach him. I only spent $500.

Nowhere in that post does it say he knows more than Jake. This is your lack of reading comprehension that I'm talking about. I said Jake "might" have learned a thing or two from him. He is part owner of the best air cooled porsche repair facility in Texas and his shop is a certified L&N Solution installation garage. The only one in Texas. I would imagine that Jake cut him a deal on classes but that's none of my business to ask.. Even if Jake didn't, a couple of grand is pocket change to him

The next one to not post a reply is the winner. ...you can both win.

So you are still mad that I didn't buy a part from you.
