Slow fill

I've only had my '06 BS for just over a month, but every time I've filled it (three different stations) I've had trouble with the pump shutting off. Is there a simple or common problem with these cars that prevents free filling?

I've seen this problem on the 986 chassis, but not on the 987! Typically it's the tank breather proximity switch. It's triggered when you stick the metal nozzle from the pump into the filler neck. Typically they have just rotated (the sensor is in a plastic clamp that attaches to the alum filler neck) pull down the fender liner and look for the black clamp around the filler neck. In most cases? You'll see the witness marks where it *should be.

I'll get a pic and show you.

The active carbon cannister could also be too old.

I find that holding the fill nozzle in the horizontal plane seems to allow free flow filling .

My '06 was "short-filling", I installed this fuel filler adapter that allows it to vent better, and all is well:
