Alarm chirping ?
Hi guys
I've just had my Box back from the garage and the alarm has started chirping ?
I've done a bit of investigation, and it seems most people are saying that it chirps if something is left open (though I thought it gave a quick toot on the horn if that was the case ??).
Mine isnt doing that, it is effectively chirping the same as the light flash, and it's not coming from the horn its coming from the alarm speaker itself.
I.e. when I disarm the alarm, the lights flash once, then a second or so later the alarm chirps once. When I arm the alarm, the lights flash twice, and a second or so later the alarm chirps twice.
It never used to chirp !? Any ideas what this means and can I turn it off ?!
Apologies if this has been asked a million times, couldnt seem to find any info on it.
Thanks everyone.
S

If you lock the car, get the lights flashing twice, and then get a beep (I know you said a chirp), that usually means you have an open contact somewhere. In my case it's always the oddments tray (ie the glove box in the middle between the two seats). Try securing that and see what happens.

Yeh, thanks, but like I said in my original post - its not the beep of the horn, its a chirp from the alarm speaker itself.
Cheers anyway.

Found one other person who had it, and he had the alarm replaced under warrranty.
Rats.
It seems UK spec Box's have an alarm siren (rather than just the horn) with tilt sensors. Its this siren.
I think Im gonna try and work out where it is and disable it as the alarm is functioning fine and still sounding the horn ok.
Will have to do, not spending another $400 having em replace the siren.
