Powerful fog light bulb options?

Has anyone found a powerful fog light (within the headlight housing) that won't melt the housing? I'd like to upgrade to ballasted LED but I don't want to ruin my headlight covers

LEDs run very cool, I doubt this would be an issue.

The question is why do you need "powerful" fog lights?

And with LED fog lights, you will not have very good color match to your current headlights.

What he's not telling you is the front splitter he put on his car eliminates the brake cooling ducts, so he is "modifying" his head lights by removing the main headlight, installing a NACA duct on it, and running piping out the back of the headlight on to the brake calipers. He is repurposing the fog light to function as the main headlight. Its not exactly street legal so lets keep it on the down low...

That almost makes sense LOL

The light emitted from the fog lights will not function very well as a head light as the beam patern is very different

if true then perhaps try this ...
