Oil in engine bay

3 Attachment(s)
Hi guys,

New owner of a 2001 S.

Was changing the roof today to a 2003 with glass and looked around the engine bay for inspection.

Found 2 places with some oil and was wondering if I should be worried.

Seems to be coming from the "breather"?

Here are the pictures, let me know what you guys think its from.

The first picture shows a little fluid around the vent line for the power steering reservoir.

The other "breather" is the PCV valve.

Don't worry.
Clean the area with a spray bottle of soapy water, then see how much fresh leakage there is.
Replace PCV valve if it continues to leak, but also make sure your oil level isn't too high.

Thank you very much for the links. I'll definitely clean them up and keep an eye on them.

Cheers.

Just extend the P/S vent line so it drips on the ground or into a little plastic jar. If that does not work the 2 "O" rings on the P/S Reservoir neck(not the cap) may need replacing &/or it was overfilled. Just keep the fluid at the minimum mark

Try putting on a new o-ring on the power steering reservoir cap. It stopped mine from leaking.
