Brake fluid reservoir

My hood struts gave and the hood fell down while my Motive power bleeder was attached to the top of the reservoir.

The hose on top of the Motive cap absorbed some of the shock, and there are rubber bumpers/gaskets under the reservoir where it attaches to the master cylinder.

I can't see any cracking of the reservoir itself, and it's not leaking, but is anyone out there familiar with the underside workings? Could the vertical smack cause any damage there? If so, how would the damage manifest itself?

You would have brake fluid leaking under the car from the master cylinder. I would be very surprised if there were any damage. My suggestion is to check for brake fluid under the car before you start and check the fluid level frequently until you gain confidence that there is no leak.
