static on the radio

Hello, hello
I have a 2000s with stock electronics and I'm getting an increasing amount of static. More so on AM than FM. Any ideas?
Thanks

All I ever listen to is the wwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAA right behind my head, occasionally interrupted by my passenger/wife.

I have a CD of the sound track from 'Le Mans' that I play when I drive.. Look at me, I'm Steve McQueen!!

Increase with RPM? Lose ignition connection?
Constant.? Antenna connection?
Only recent? Anything aftermarket?

to my new best friend, Mikefocke, who refrained from pointing out that I should be tuned into the mechanical symphony of the Porsche soul, and simply answered my question, thank you.
Und zo, the noise seems to increase with rpm, all is stock. Where would you suggest I begin my search for the loose connection?
Thanks again!

Plugs/coil connection? Alternator? Loose spark plug? We are looking for some electrical signal which goes faster with increases in RPM.

thanks again, wish me luck
