Convertible Top Not Going down, Need help please!!!
Ok really need all of your help please,
Woke up this morning to take the Porsche Boxster out as its finally good weather here in Canada. I started my car had the emergency break up and decide to push the button to put the top down, when I did that I heard the motor kick in but no movement then the motor when quiet. At this point I decided to hit the close button heard the motor but yet no movement then the motor when quiet!
I know the issue is not my handbrake wire ....... so what could this be?

Like you were told in your other thread about coolant, the topic has been covered many times before in numerous threads. Use the search function.

The motor drives cables with squared off ends that spin to drive the transmissions. The cables could be broken, or the big plastic gears in the transmissions could be cracked. Pop the ball end sockets that attach to the top, to get the top open enough to get a look.
There's some detail of the parts here: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Boxster_Tech/71-BODY-Convertible_Top_Repair/71-BODY-Convertible_Top_Repair.htm

In case you are still working on it, either pop off the ball socket that connects the transmission to the clamshell, or just unbolt the whole lever from the transmission.

Did you figure this out? My parking brake switch works but when I unlatch and hit the button, nothing happens, once in a while, I hear the motor but no rotation on the transmission but lately I don’t even hear the motor. Just complete silence when I press the button to open or close.
