Need Help Understanding Electrical/Relay Diagram

1 Attachment(s)
Hi Everyone,

I am modifying three #53 relays to provide the ability to toggle the two high speed radiator fans and engine compartment fan. I know from previous posts that grounding pin #85 will activate the radiator fans, however I am unclear if it is the same for the engine compartment fan.

Both the radiator fans and engine compartment fans can be jumpered the same way, by connecting pin 87 & 30, so I think it should be the same, but I am hoping someone can clarify if grounding pin 85 will also activate this relay.

One more question, would grounding to the Phone Connector in the center console be the same as grounding to a chassis point?

Thank you!

The problem with the phone connector is that the conductors are only rated at 7.5 Amps(E6 fuse). If you ar using that for the control(not power) of the relay - O.K.
In a hot climate the engine bay needs all the cooling it can get.The common mod is to move the temp sensor in the Bank 1 inlet manifold closer to the engine so it activates sooner/longer.
Good Luck with your mod
