Plastic Back Window
I found an article in a boat magazine on caring for the plastic windows on a boat enclosure. They said that using Pledge will remove any haze and will make the plastic more flexible.
I tried this on the boat plastic, and it worked wonders. Has anyone heard of this or tried this on the Boxster back plastic window? |
nope
I use Plexis, both the cleaner (windex like stuff) and the polish. Relatively inexpensive, developed for NASA for the windows on the space shuttle, (ok so that might be bogus but I've read it enough places that I'm beginning to believe it) and readily available, at least on the net. It works great.
I would think a wax like Pledge would leave a film, which you don't want. Bob |
The most annoying thing, actually the only annoying thing, on my car is the rear plastic window. Everytime I put the top down I have to jump out midway and kink it in the middle so that it will fold in half. It wants to bubble up in the middle and this puts a lot of stress of the electric motor. Will these softener products help? It does soften up in direct sunshine but still doesn't want to fold properly.

Pledge, huh? I just might try that.

Steve,
I have the same problem. I ma not sure that the Pledge works, but I can tell you that it clearly makes a different in the boat plastic windows. |
Pledge does work very well on plastic glass. Plexsis works much better and is not really costly. Considering what a Boxster costs to maintain, I see no logic in opting for pledge.
