quick question, searching but no results. engine weight for swap info.

maybe I'm using the wrong key words but I'm trying to find the weight of the 2.5 motor. not getting anything to pop up.

anyone know this?

long story short... I'm trying to gather info on what would be practical to lighten up as i do my motor swap. stuff that is just not necessary other than interior comforts for the wife lol

I'm swapping in a 3.8sc pontiac motor and going to go with aluminum heads. that motor with stock heads(72lbs) weighs 392lbs. with aluminum heads i would think i can shave 30lbs and push boost a bit higher as well. so if theirs some more i can shed with out getting silly on the car, I'm going to try. but if its just something like 50lbs then I wont bother.

I am curious about comparing the engine weights of both motor though.

A complete motor minus the AC compressor is usually about 415-425 on a pallet

thank you sir!! greatly appreciated. ;)

so with aluminum heads on the 3.8 i potentially shave about 50lbs... not bad i guess.
