operating temperature

My 2000 Boxster seems to be running at 180-190 degrees(if the temp guage reads correctly). Is that proper or too hot, and is there a decent way to check and clean the radiator short of removing the front bumper?
Where is the radiator drain located?

You could just take a vacuum attachment and such up any loose dirt in both radiators. Anywhere around the 180 mark is normal operating temperature, especially during the summer. I know some have found a dead bird in their radiators,me I'm not so lucky only a jolly rancher and some leaves.

That is the right operating temp for the Boxster.

Not to worry.

You're at the bottom of the spectrum. Under 180 is too cool, 250 is overheat. Mine stays between 215 and 230 on 90 degree days while averaging in the 4K-5K rpm range with 0W40 Mobil1.
