Can't find the answer to my convertible roof problem.

Alright so I noticed that the clamshell on the passenger side wasn't sitting flush with the trunk when the roof was stowed inside. About a week later I pushed the button to retract the top and I heard the motor start turning for about 3-5 seconds and then it just stopped. So I pushed the button the opposite way to close the roof and it closed. But when I went to try to reopen it I heard the motor churn for about 3-5 seconds and then a loud pop noise along with some grinding. After further investigation I noticed that my push rod was bent to hell and broken. I thought that was the problem but I order a new pushrod and assembly and reinstalled it but I still have the same issue with the motor that stops working after 3-5 seconds in any direction. And if you push it back and forth , after a while you just hear a loud click noise. Any answers or suggestions would be helpful.
