Replacing Rear Shocks
Novice mechanic and relatively new Boxster owner - Replacing rear Bilstein adjustable coil overs in the rear tomorrow - Just wondering if anyone has any tips or suggestions before I dig in. A fellow Porsche owner has a hydraulic lift in his shop so that's a good start.
Thanks Martin PS - Any suggestions on manuals or books on doing maintenance on a 2001 Boxster S? |

Thanks
Exactly what I was looking for.

I used this process when I replaced my shocks. It is a lot of work but in my opinion doable by a regular person and I am the proof ;)
Hardest part was removing the rear LCA ball joint from the wheel carrier. If I had to do it again I would try leaving that connected and remove the other end (where the rear camber is adjusted) and see if that would work. |
Having a lift will be a huge help!

Go to this video and go about 5 minutes in, he shows how to do replace the rear struts, and doesn't break loose the two ball joints for the toe arm and the LCA.
