18' Porsche 911 (1993-1998) on a 2001 Boxster S

Anyone fitted 18' Porsche 911 (1993-1998) on a 2001 Boxster S?

Advise on if this is possible? And required space please?

Thanks,

I put 993 wide body turbo twists on my '99 which has a 2001 S rear suspension due to having installed 2001 S big red brakes and didn't need spacers. They're 8.5" in front and 10" rear.

18" 987 Boxster S alloys on my 986 Boxster S. Car's standard - no spacers, standard suspension.

Turbo twists were a factory option for the S, my car has them. It's a different part number then the 993 wheels. But turbo twists fit for sure. If you'll need spacers or anything if your car came 17 or not, I don't know.

You don't need spacers, even if the car came with 17's. Mine did and it's fine.

What size are your wheels and offset Gerain? There are lots of different sizes of 18" Porsche wheels out there. I think the ones the OP is referring to are these (Early 996):

My rear Boxster (Victor Equipment Aftermarket) 18s are 9x18 ET49
These wheels are an inch wider. (Front side of wheels aligned)

I have read that they are best with an 18mm spacer (correcting to the prescribed Boxster off-set of 47mm for the 10x18s). From what I have read, the fronts are good.

I'm no expert, but I have a few wheels laying around and Google. Really need the full description of Joel's wheels to be sure.

Very good point, for some reason I assumed that all 996 and 986 18's were the same offset! I stand corrected :)

Thanks for all your help guys. Attached are photos showing all the marking.

What does the H2 of 10Jx18H2 mean?

When I held them in position it looked like a 30mm spacer? This pushed it out of the wheel arch.

Please advise, nice cars by the way.

That looks like an 18" wheel 10" wide, with a 47mm offset. Hard to see the offset for sure.

Here's a chart from a wheel vendor that has that size (No spacer):

Here's a good guide about how to read wheel size markings:

Et 47

Its says ET 47. When I offered the rims up to the car - they stuck out of the arch when giving enough clearance. Can you confirm these are incorrect please?

BruceH 07-02-2016 06:27 AM

This might help you, if they are ET 47, they should fit since stock is ET 50 and that is pretty close. My rear 18's are ET 65 from a 911. I had to get spacers for the rear.
