Which clutch kit is correct?
Now that I have to replace my clutch, I'm looking at what is available
I found a couple of Sachs kits for my 04 986 S. The problem is, I don't know which one is correct! The part numbers I found are: 3000 951 201 K7029001 98611691102 18014-05057243 W0133-1598018 52-40065 ZF What is the correct one?? Will more than one work? If so, what is the difference between them? I have found them from $325 to around $600 |
2 suggestions:
1.Check the Pelican site and call them. They are very helpful 2004 Porsche Boxster S Convertible - Clutch & Flywheel - Page 1 2. Research how to check the DMF and test yourself. Many mechanics do not know how to do it correctly. If you fail to replace a worn DMF it may quickly become a quite different but serious issue. |
Hello.
SACHS K7029001 is the same part as 98611691102 and the correct one for your 2004 S. I replaced the dual mass flywheel on my Cayman and my Boxster when I did the clutch job. For the money I figured it was good insurance. I really didn't want to go back in there anytime soon. You'll be amazed at how beautifully these clutches work when everything is brand new. Good luck. |
Ordered the K7029001 kit
Best price I found was $325 at Rock Auto and FCPeuro matched it Pelican was $530! For the same kit |
