Leatherette Flap in Convertible Top Cavity - What is it?

I have a question. Went in to change the air filter. When I put the top in the service position I noticed a black leatherette thing with stretchy straps on the end and a black channel across the top. It was just laying in there. What is it? Need a pic or does someone know?

Based on the description, I'd say it's the hood portion of a 2 piece bra. But probably the cover for your rear windscreen. :)

It channels water into the drains on either side of it.

It's supposed to be clipped to the rear firewall. There are two small plastic clips back there, and the edge of the plastic channel just (gently, doesn't take much force) pushes into these two clips.

I think the purpose of this 'flap' is to keep the "finished interior" of the car separated from the potentially dirty / dusty / humid water-draining area of this cavity.

Thanks gents....ill try installing it properly.

Yeah so I still don't see how and where this clips on. On one "end" (the front facing) there is a tubular channel (you can see in the pic) that clearly clips onto something. Then on the back side, which clearly goes down, it also looks like it should be connected somehow. Logically it looks like it should form a "tent" so to speak to channel the water. Anyone willing to give me a picture of there's attached?

About 10 seconds in he shows the clips and then layer in the video it shows more detail.

It slide up into the clips on the rear firewall. try to get them both in at the same time, and it can take a tiny bit of force (but not too much). It's an important piece to make sure water get's channeled to the drains, so don't leave it unclipped. Also make sure your drains are clear if you haven't already.

Here you are, friend.

Here is one of the drains, I have a little guard over it that I got from suncoast, it was relatively inexpensive and blocks things from clogging the drains.
