Oil level indicator
How accurate is your in dash oil level display ? Mines not.
No kablamow but when I did the oil change, I was given a heads up by my guy. |
Mine always seems to read a little high compared to the real dipstick so I check the real one on a regular basis.

It measures the liquid level in the oil sump very well, it cannot measure what is in the heads. If you allow the engine to idle long enough to pump maximum amount of oil from the heads you get the most accurate level reading assuming the car is level.

Hello,
your car has to stand on leveled ground. Else the display results will be wrong. And if you take a look in your user manual, Porsche also recommends to use the dip stick. But also the dip stick will only give am exact result if the car is on leveled ground. So only check oil level on leveled ground. ;) Regards, Markus |
Here's the deal...
...park it on level ground and let it sit for three days before checking with the dip stick.

There is nothing really wrong with the electronic display; these cars carry over eight quarts of oil, and each line is only a fraction of a quart. |
