Cruise Control Indicator Light on Retrofit

I just had my 2002 Boxster S (3.2L) Tiptronic redone with a Cruise Control retrofit. The cruise control works great now. The only thing is Cruise Control Indicator Light doesn't come on when I engage the cruise control. The indicator light for the Boxster S is supposed to be on the right of the "convertible top indicator light" on the "warning lights panel" (according to my owner's manual....the regular Boxster (2.5L) has its cruise control light on the speedometer).

My mechanic used the parts and followed the directions from this technical article from Pelican Parts on doing a cruise control retrofit:
Porsche Boxster Cruise Control Installation - 986 / 987 (1997-08) - Pelican Parts Technical Article

Did my Porsche mechanic forget to activate that indicator light? If so, what is the procedure for that? If I could get a detailed description of how that would be done I'd really appreciate it.
