Upgrading my stereo

Okay I've done a bit of research but I'm still totally confused. Can someone help me?

I have a 2003 Boxster S with a fibre optic Becker CDR23, two standard dash speakers, and no amp. I'd like to upgrade my stereo but I'm not sure what I'd need to do it. I understand that the issue is either the fibre optic cables, but I don't even know what those wires do in the system. Does mine even make use of the fibre optic connection? As it has no amp.

Is there a simple adapter kit I could buy that would simply allow me to fit an aftermarket radio?

Help please :( would love some clarification as I'm confused to hell and back. Thank you!

Never mind. I've just found out that the only real problems were with amps. Fibre optic was only used from the amp to the stereo, so if you only had speakers and no amp, then there isn't any fibre optic cables to worry about. I just need an adapter to turn the Porsche plug into a standard ISO plug to fit an after market radio.

Which is this: lhttps://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/400659879734

You can delete the thread if you like guys, or leave it to help someone else :)
