Wet door carpet - floor is dry
I've recently repaired my window regulator, and now whenever it rains my door carpet gets wet at the bottom.
Obviously it has something to do with whatever was inside the door, but what would it be? My first thought is the foam covering which was ripped off (but loosely placed back on), but I didn't think that would be anything to do with water proofing anything? Or would it? |
I recently replaced my window regulator and had the inner liner off for a couple of days. I had a defective new part and had to replace it. I had the door all back together, sans the liner. We had a day of rain and was surprised at how much rain came in on the floor. Fortunately it was the passenger side. My suggestion is pull the door card back off and seal that liner up completely.

Oh, interesting. So that thin foam liner is definitely there to stop water coming in?
Wonder if I could buy that new. |

You can reseal it with butyl tape/rope/cord.

Brilliant. Unfortunately I've ripped mine in several places, but some heavy duty tape and sealant as you said would probably do the trick.

Check under the seat for wetness. The Immobilizer is there! You need a drain hole there & a Ziplock bag around the immobilizer.

It's alright I've found that it's the seal inside the door that's causing the issue :)
