Day time running lights conversion, PLZ HELP

I live in Canada and bought a Porsche Boxster from the States and in Canada we must have day time running lights or its illegal to drive. I was wondering if I can do the conversion myself or I have to go to the dealer. Also if you know how to do it please let me know.

Thanks

I have not done this myself, but I remembered reading about it when I first starting looking for my car. You should look at this link for info on the conversion.

In case the link does not work, here is the copy/paste address

Hi,

Very easy Mod. I did it but didn't like the look of it, so I reveresed it. But, if your Country requires it, it's about as cheap and easy as you can do...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

Hi Yellow Boxster!!!

Here is some great news for you! Your car must ONLY have daytime running lights for certification. It does NOT need daytime running lights to be legal on the road here in Canada. It is your choice if you would like to disable them or not. I have disabled them in many of my cars and they have all passed through certification however as nobody really ever checks for daytime running lights as part of the certification process.

If you have the car certified and on the road now don't worry about it. If your certification place is saying it's a must then set it up, however reverse it as soon as your done and you are not breaking any laws at all.

Regards,
