Winter wheel fitment

So I picked up a set of winter wheels for a good price but now I'm not sure about the offset sizes. Fronts are 8x18 and 54 offset (235/40/18), and rears are 10x18 with 40 offset (265/40/18). I imagine I would need spacers with these? Or will they not fit at all?

in relation to factory tire and wheel sizes

on the fronts, the tire is 9mm closer and wheel will be 4mm closer to the suspension. Spacers may be needed.

on the rear, the tire and wheel will be 7 mm farther away, so no spacer needed and will still probably be under the fender

Mount them and see if there is a clearance problem on the front. If so, add a spacer

They are installed and seem to be okay without the spacers. :)
Really at the limit though.
