soft top ball joints

So, I just changed the plastic ball joints of the soft top on my car after the original ones broke but after fitting the new ones I noticed that they hardly snap on the metal ball. They barely have any resistance going on and off the ball. I tried pushing them in further, but I don't want to break them. The top is working fine,I tried it a few times and the ball joints didnt come off the metal balls but I just wanted to know if its normal for them to be really easy to pull off and on again or shall I try pushing them further in? I would say one third of the ball is still showing after I fitted the ball joints.

I would push them in until seated. I replaced mine and things got more involve on the other end of the pushrods. I used a little lubricant and they behaved normally.

Don't use force. Take a closer look at the ball ends. They need a little pressure to get on, but the trick is to slide them over in the right direction.
