Rim Width question

Right now I have a 97 Boxster with stock turbo twists. 7" Front, 8.5" width back. 17" Rims. factory setup.

I know nothing about rims, sizes etc.

I'm looking at some Rims that are 18" but all are 8" wide rims +50 offset . Will this non staggered have an impact on the car? Will they fit?

Any advice appreciated.

It should be fine. How heavy are they? what tires are you trying to fit? Most importantly is the hub size 71.6 and are they 5x130?

They are porsche replica rims, so yes to the 71.6 and 5x130

Be aware that running the same size tires front and rear will tend to decrease understeer and increase oversteer. This means that the rear of the car is likely to slide first and will require quick and exact reactions to avoid a spin (if you ever get into that kind of situation).

and once a Boxster starts to spin, there is no stopping it. It will rotate right around the gear shift
On the butt heavy cars, stomping on the gas usually will straighten it out
Same true with the Boxster, just not as much

You cant run a compatible stagger on 4, 8" rims
225 40ZR 18 is 25.1" Dia
245 35ZR 18 is 24.8" Dia

Some run track tires as a 4 square with 245 35ZR 18, I tried this and My speeds were slower and the steering was harsh. These were sticky tire I can't imagine what street tire would feel like but I would not want to try it.
