Tiptronic engine OK in 6 speed?
In searching for a replacement 3.2L for my 6 speed 2001S, I find many coming from donor cars with a Tiptronic. Will these work with a 6 speed by simply switching the flex plate for a clutch & PP?

Wiring harness is different too, but not a big deal if you have your old one.

Vac tube routing bit different as well.

IMHO, a Tip replacement engine is the best choice since it was likely driven in Auto at lower RPM's for most of its previous life. At least, that is my (unproven) theory. |
Been running this combination for 3 years. As others noted.
1.Transfer your C,P,F to the new motor or renew they bolt right up. You'll also need Flywheel bolt for a manual. 2.Transfer the engine wiring harness from the manual motor. 3.There is a 4 way "T" and 3 way "T" cooling hose on the Tip motor use the 3 way hose and the "L" shaped hose from the Manual motor. 4.The vacuum line on the tip at the intake has a 4 way tee use the manual 3 way "T" from the manual motor. I believe that is it. |
